โ
Muse News is for creators, bloggers, and creative online business owners who want to grow their email list while building their personal brands online.
In case you're new here (or if you haven't checked an email from me in a while), hi! I'm Brittany Verlenich.โ
Let's get to this week's edition of the Muse News! ๐ช๐๏ธ
โ
๐ Happening Now for Busy Bloggers & Business Owners
โThe 2025 Teacher Seller Summit is open for registration TODAY!!โ โMy session is going to be about all of the ways you can make more money as a teacher creator. Even if you're solely focusing on growing your TeachersPayTeachers store right now, you can monetize all of those skills you've been building! โ
โ โโ๏ธ Quick Win Snippet for Sellers
Feeling stuck on what to post this week?
Let your past content do the heavy lifting.
Revisit one of your old Instagram posts that performed well, and give it a quick refresh: โ Copy the caption and rephrase it from a new angle (story, tip, myth-busting, etc.)โ โ Turn it into a 5-slide carousel with bold headlines and a CTA at the end โ Film a 15-second Reel with you speaking the first line on camera (or use B-roll + captions)โ โ Add it to your Stories with a poll, question box, or link sticker
Quick win: Or if you really want that "new thing" dopamine, start reposing all of your old videos onto a new platform! You can upload all of your Instagram Reels to Facebook or YouTube, for example.
If youโve ever looked at your content and thought,
โOkayโฆ I know this is good. So why is no one seeing it?!"
Youโre not alone.
Sometimes itโs not about what youโre saying - itโs about how often, where, and how youโre saying it.
This weekโs podcast episode dives into one of the simplest (and smartest) ways to start getting more traction without creating more stuff: repurpose something that's worked in the past.
And we're not saying to just post it again - though, you could definitely do that too!!
We're talking about turning one great piece of content, into a series - or something different altogether - so you can get more out of it.
This might look like: ๐ก A blog post that leads to a podcast episode ๐ก A series of tweets (or X'es? who knows lol) or Threads that performed well, into a podcast episode ๐ก A YouTube video that becomes a challenge, lead magnet, or workshop ๐ก Or even a product in your store that could lead to a workshop, lead magnet, content series, etc
This is the magic of being intentional.
Itโs how I went from making random posts whenever I had time, to creating content ecosystems that run on their own - WITHOUT me being glued to my phone all day.
I HAD to learn this because I'd finally gotten to a point with my own brands and clients where I was like, "I can't be on my phone all day every day."
Though trust me, I tried.
For like TWO YEARS.
Whether you sell on TpT, Etsy, or your own site, you donโt necessarily need more content.
(unless you're new - then like, maybe you do)
But whether you're new or not, we ALL need to do more with our content and to get more out of it.
Want to see how that looks in real life?
Listen to this weekโs episode of Social Media Magic where I walk you through the Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose framework.
Here are my quick takes and observations happening now in in social media marketing.
Some are things that I'm seeing happen right now, some are upcoming trends or changes I see coming:
Facebook Groups are back in style - yes, it's really like 2018 right now WHAT IS HAPPENING lol โIโve said it before, but Iโll say it again louder this time: If youโve been sleeping on Facebook Groups, itโs time to wake up. โ โMore creators are seeing engagement drop in the feed but grow inside their groups. Metaโs pushing for more community-driven content in 2025, and I wouldnโt be surprised if we see more group features roll out soon.โ โ โWhat to do now: Start or revive a Facebook group that ties into your niche - something like โCreative Classroom Decor Ideasโ or โMath Ideas for 4th Grade Teachers.โ Use your featured posts to direct people to your top products and freebies. โ โPSST! If you already have a Facebook Group, click here to get a free group growth campaign.โ โ
Threads is growing quietly but powerfully. โDiscovery is still fairly organic here, especially for educational content and niche commentary. โ If you're focusing on Instagram growth, it's especially great - since new followers on Threads are likely to come over and see what you're doing on Instagram. We're also still seeing cross-promotion in other places - like in Instagram stories and on the Facebook feed. โ What you'll love about Threads is NO VIDEO!! No need for makeup or cute outfits. 10/10.โโ โPro tip: Share a short โthought threadโ 2โ3x a week. These can be tiny micro blogs that start like:๐งต โIf I had to start over as a teacher in 2025, hereโs what Iโd doโฆโThen just share your real thoughts. End with a link to your email list, freebie, or best product. Done. โ
YouTube Shorts are converting.โ Iโm hearing from multiple creators that Shorts are finally driving traffic - not just getting views. โ This is especially helpful if you have a YouTube channel with long videos, and/or a podcast you're hosting on YouTube. โ โWhat to test: Take your best Reel from the last month and upload it as a Short. Donโt add music or flashy transitions. Just title it clearly with searchable language like โHow to Set Up Math Centers for 4th Grade.โ Or, use an app like Opus Clips to create clips from a longer video. Then, upload those clips as Shorts - linking the longer video as the "Related Video."
โ ๐ Trending Topics
Don't know what to post? I've got you!!
Every week, I'll include some ideas that are trending right now.
If these work for your brand or niche, integrate them into your content strategy so you can ride that wave of virality.
Here are some trending topics and subjects you can integrate into your approach for more timely content:
โ
๐ธ Spring-Themed Educational Resourcesโ โ Teachers are planning units on flowers, life cycles, bugs, plants, and weather โ Theyโre looking for bright, engaging content that keeps students focused as energy levels rise โ This is a great time to promote: โ Spring-themed math and literacy centers โ Life cycle science activities (butterflies, frogs, plants) โ Weather charts, anchor charts, and writing prompts
โ
๐ซ End-of-Year Classroom Activitiesโ โ Educators are starting to prep final projects, assessments, and class celebrations โ Many are searching for low-prep review games and reflective writing prompts โ This is a great time to promote: โ End-of-year memory books and digital scrapbooks โ Review activities for state testing or grade-level wrap-ups โ Editable awards, classroom countdowns, and student surveys
โ
๐ Reading Strategies & Summer Slide Preventionโ โ Teachers and parents are thinking ahead to summer and trying to avoid skill regression โ Families are looking for reading challenges, book lists, and independent learning packs โ This is a great time to promote: โ Summer reading trackers and book bingo printables โ Comprehension passages with discussion questions โ Genre-based reading journals or author studies
โ
๐ Earth Day & Environmental Awareness (April 22)โ โ Teachers want meaningful, actionable activities for Earth Day and sustainability lessons โ Classroom trends include low-waste projects, upcycling, and nature journaling โ This is a great time to promote: โ Earth Day science experiments and writing prompts โ Reduce/Reuse/Recycle sorting activities for primary grades โ Project-based learning units around climate and conservation
โ
๐งโโ๏ธ SEL, Mindfulness, and Mental Healthโ โ Students and teachers are both feeling end-of-year burnout โ Thereโs growing demand for calming strategies and emotional check-ins โ This is a great time to promote: โ Reflection journals and emotion trackers โ Breathing exercises, calming corner visuals, and positive affirmation cards โ Social story bundles and mindfulness coloring pages โ

Instagram
AI-Powered Ad Tools: Meta is introducing new AI-powered tools for Facebook and Instagram advertisers. These updates aim to enhance ad targeting and performance, providing more efficient and effective advertising solutions for users. I don't use paid ads - but if you are, let me know how it's going! I'm definitely going to do a Meta ads series here on the podcast soon.
Threads
Not really an "update," but...: If you're not already leveraging the "Trending Topics" tab on Threads, I highly recommend doing so. Posts about those trending topics get a lot more reach. So if you can tie it back to your niche or specialty, you can get way more eyes on your content, products, freebies, etc. โ
Facebook
Reintroduction of the Friends Tab: Facebook has launched a new 'Friends' tab, allowing users to view content exclusively from their friends, including personal posts, Reels, stories, birthdays, and friend requests. This feature aims to enhance personal connections and is currently available in the US and Canada. โIt's honestly another throwback lol and this is a great time to get your personal profile setup if you aren't already using it for promo! Or, set the "Friends" tab aside as your place to get away from ads. โ
LinkedIn
No major updates this weekโ โ
TikTok
No major updates this weekโ โ
Google
Expanded Display Ad Placements: Google has expanded its display ad placements, offering advertisers more opportunities to reach their target audiences across various platforms and devices. This update aims to improve ad visibility and engagement. They just finished a major core update, so I'm sure search rankings will vary a bit. โ
YouTube
Testing Voice Comments and Quiz Stickers: YouTube is testing new features, including 'Voice Comments' for long-form videos and a 'Quiz' sticker for YouTube Shorts on Android. These additions aim to increase user engagement and interactivity on the platform. I haven't seen them yet because I don't really use Shorts as a consumer. But if you see them and if you're willing to send in a screenshot, lemme know!! โ
