Short on time? This video shares a walkthrough of this weekly edition of the Muse News!
Muse News is for creators, bloggers, and creative online business owners who want to grow their email list while building their personal brands online.
In case you're new here (or if you haven't checked an email from me in a while), hi! I'm Brittany Verlenich.โ
Let's get to this week's edition of the Muse News! ๐ช๐๏ธ
โ
๐ Happening Now for Busy Bloggers & Business Owners
โTeacher Seller Summit: Early Bird Pricing Ends April 15thโ โMy session is going to be about all of the ways you can make more money as a teacher creator. Even if you're solely focusing on growing your TeachersPayTeachers store right now, you can monetize all of those skills you've been building! โ This year, the pricing is a bit different. You can actually participate for FREE if you want to! โ But if you're on the fence about upgrading, then do it before Tuesday the 15th to save some money. โ
The Profitable Part-Time Blogger opens later this month!โ This isn't my course, it's actually my friend Nina's course. It'll be open to register April 21st-25th - so if starting, growing, or monetizing a blog is in your sites for this year, put it in your budget and on your calendar! โ
โResults Week is next week! It's free, and happening in my Facebook Group.โ Every day, I'm going to be showing you how to recycle, reduce, reuse, and repost your existing posts - so you can eventually build a bank of evergreen content. And it's not just social posts! You'll watch me repurpose videos, podcast episodes, and blog posts into social posts. โ
โ โโ๏ธ Quick Win Snippet for Sellers
Running low on creative energy this week?
Good news:You donโt have to create anything new to stay visible.
Hereโs a super simple way to get seen without spending hours staring at a blinking cursor:
Pick one of your product listings or blog posts, then turn it into a conversation starter.
โ Pull one FAQ from the listing and answer it in a Reel or text post โ Share a behind-the-scenes peek into why you created it โ Post a carousel breaking down the problem it solves โ Screenshot your listing or post and add it to Stories with a โHave you seen this yet?โ poll
Quick win: Great content doesnโt have to be new; it just has to be timely. Re-promote if if it makes sense!!
I actually tore my ACL in Ireland so I've been hobbling around and everything has been slower.
Thank GOD I work "from home" and online!!
Every time I feel myself getting a bit overwhelmed, I remember that fact.
That there's really no "falling behind" or real "urgency" unless there's a self-imposed timeline.
So hopefully, that takes some of the time pressure off.
But if you're still frustrated because of how much time things take, I get it.
I've definitely been there before -
โI know I need to post... but what and where and why does this all take so long?โ
Yep. BEEN. THERE.
Thatโs exactly why this weekโs episode of Social Media Magic is all about reducing your content workload - without giving up on visibility, sales, or connection.
Weโre talking real strategies for cutting down on the doing, while still growing your presence.
Like: ๐ก Using a decision-making matrix to know what to cut (and what just needs tweaking) ๐ก Getting super honest about whether something is right for you, or just โsounds smartโ on a podcast ๐ก Thinking in seasons - whatโs right for you right now may not be forever (and thatโs okay!)
Youโll also hear the story of how one evergreen YouTube video (from a brand new channel!) is now building my list and generating passive sales with no extra effort.
Thatโs what happens when you stop doing whatโs trendy, and start doing whatโs sustainable.
Iโm also officially inviting you to come behind the scenes with me during Results Week, happening next week in my Facebook Group April 14โ18.
Each day, weโll take one piece of your long-form content and repurpose it, together - in real time.
This is exactly what I do all day every day for myself and for clients, ANNNND it's what I'll be doing later this month with clients when I help them build their evergreen content engines.
Each of these workshops will become individual paid workshops, and of course they'll be free for the students in my evergreen content program.
I'm really looking forward to this because I knowit's going to change your life.
Because once you really get this down??
You won't need to post daily, or even be engaging with content daily anymore, once you have your evergreen content engine setup.
And Results Week is gonna, well get you results.
You'll walk away with content that's done and ready to post!
Here are my quick takes and observations happening now in in social media marketing.
Some are things that I'm seeing happen right now, some are upcoming trends or changes I see coming:
Instagram is rewarding depth over aesthetic.โ Weโre seeing more engagement on posts that feel real and rooted in value - not just curated to perfection. โ No oneโs here for Canva-quotes and beige vibes anymore. โ They want micro-stories, bold opinions, useful takeaways, and teacher-to-teacher convos.
Carousel posts and text-heavy Reels are quietly outperforming โpretty but emptyโ content. โ โWhat to try:โ Pick a product, then share a 3-slide post: โ Slide 1: The problem your resource solves โ Slide 2: A tip or teacher story that connects โ Slide 3: A soft CTA like โWant this done for you?โ with a link in bio โ
Pinterest is rewarding fresh pins again - especially long-form ones.โ If you thought Pinterest was dead, itโs not. But the rules have changed.
Keyword-rich pins that look like blog covers or TikTok-style how-tos are showing up more often in searches.
Yes, theyโre still pushing Idea Pinsโbut good olโ static vertical pins with clear titles and strong CTAs are converting well again. โ โWhat to do now:โ โ Open Canva โ Resize one of your blog post or product promo graphics to 1000x1500 โ Add a clear headline, product preview image, and CTA โ Upload and link to your blog post, freebie, or best-selling bundle โ
Everyoneโs testing Substack, but only a few are doing it well.โ The Substack wave is real. โ Teachers, creators, and bloggers are trying it as a more human, more community-feeling alternative to traditional email marketing and audience-building. โ But the key to success? โ Consistency + a clear POV. โ The best Substacks feel like youโre talking to a smart, creative friend - not just reading another marketing newsletter. โ People are craving community and connection. If you're feeling fed up with social media, this could be a great
โ ๐ Trending Topics
Don't know what to post? I've got you!!
Every week, I'll include some ideas that are trending right now.
If these work for your brand or niche, integrate them into your content strategy so you can ride that wave of virality.
Here are some trending topics and subjects you can integrate into your approach for more timely content:
โ
โ
๐ Countdown to Summer Breakโ โ Teachers are counting the days (literally) and looking for light, low-prep content โ They're craving activities that feel fun but still purposefulโ โ This is a great time to promote: โ Printable countdown calendars or chain link activities โ Daily challenge-style review games โ End-of-year journals, choice boards, or โearly finisherโ packs
โ
๐ State Testing Seasonโ โ Itโs crunch time, and everyoneโs looking for engagement-focused review โ Teachers want to boost confidence without overwhelming students โ This is a great time to promote: โ Escape rooms, task card games, and Jeopardy-style reviews โ Brain breaks, test-day checklists, and calming activities โ Bell ringer or warm-up routines for quick content review
โ
๐ง Executive Function & Study Skillsโ โ Parents and teachers are both noticing gaps in organization and focus โ There's a push to build habits that help students transition into summer or the next grade โ This is a great time to promote: โ Goal-setting worksheets and reflection pages โ Study strategy bundles and note-taking guides โ Planner pages and visual schedules
โ
๐บ Spring Holidays & Observancesโ โ Teachers want quick, meaningful ways to bring current events and cultural moments into the classroom โ Popular themes right now include Earth Day, Poetry Month, and Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month (May) โ This is a great time to promote: โ Spring-themed poetry activities and prompts โ Earth Day reflection or action plan pages โ Research projects or biographical studies for AAPI figures
โ
๐ฉโ๐ซ Celebrating Teachersโ โ Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up fast (May 6โ10!) โ Schools, admins, and even students are prepping thoughtful surprises โ This is a great time to promote: โ Printable thank-you cards and appreciation templates โ Class activities to celebrate favorite teachers โ Products you can market as teacher gifts (especially personalized or printable!) โ
๐ฐ Social Scoop
Instagram
โEarly Accessโ for AI Tools + Updated Ads Centerโ Meta is really leaning into AI. Some business accounts now have early access to AI-generated copy and image suggestions inside the Ads Manager. Also, the new in-app Ads Center is way more intuitive than before.
Threads
Trending Tabs = Free Trafficโ Still not much in terms of official updates, but the Trending tab is honestly underrated. โ Posts that reference whatโs trending (and add real value) are getting tons more reach. Iโve been playing with this myself and noticing more views without extra effort โ
Facebook
Groups Are Quietly Thrivingโ While the feed stays cluttered, groups are (still) one of the best places to drive genuine conversations and traffic. Iโm seeing way better engagement inside niche-focused groups - especially those with consistent content drops and lead magnets.
LinkedIn
No major updates this weekโ โ
TikTok
No major updates this weekโ โ
Google
March Core Update = Wobbly Rankingsโ Google just finished rolling out a major core update, so donโt panic if your rankings have shifted. Give it a week or two before making any drastic SEO decisions. โ
YouTube
Creator Events: YouTube is HEAVILY investing in creators!! If you're putting effort into YouTube, see if they have any Creator events happening near you. And if they do, go!! You can hear about trends, techniques, and tactics right from the source.
